Fabulous scenery! They have boat tours but we didn't get there in time for one of them. WOW! The hiking trail we went on was awesome. It's a great way to see a part of the famous Okefenokee Swamp! It was mostly a boardwalk trail. Didn't see any gators but lots if other wildlife, especially spiders! Big ones! Very neat experience!
Unique park. Swamp just doesn't begin to describe how cool it is to take a boat trip and see alligators starting back at you. Well organized. Great campsites.
This is absolutely one of my favorite state parks I've been to. You are far enough out into the swamp that there are no street lights around, so it is the best place for star watching I've found in the state of Georgia. I've never gone without seeing several alligators and crains, and the Spanish moss all over the Cyprus trees is gorgeous. Definitely go if get a chance.
Great campground and park activities including tours, boat rentals, and trails. This trip I rode my bike 6miles to the Suwanee River Sill which I definitely will do again!
The closest gas station is in Fargo Georgia.
Great place to camp for a couple of days. The "comfort station" provides a washer and dryer, a bathroom and shower, and some information about the park. The staff is friendly and nice. You can really only walk trails and fish/boat. They do offer boat tours though. As much of the property is swamp or unnavigable. There is though a lot of stars at night as it is a dark sky location. The campsites size varies with your needs wether a tent through a full-sized rv. You can also rent cabins. Only cabin 5 allows dogs.
